Meet The Band

Each of the members were asked to scratch out their personal bio….and here’s what they came up with..

Mark LoncarevicMark Loncarevic:

“I've been playing bass for about twenty years and played in one too many hard rock cover bands…the first one was called “Chain Saw.” I've always played Fender basses. I've been influenced by everyone I’ve heard or played with, but mostly by beer. I'm a Leo, my favorite gun is a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 magnum. I wake up one hour before I go to bed just to take a nap. My favorite color is clear, and my favorite beer is Labatt Blue, just in case somebody wants to buy me one at our next show."

Phil VerhoefPhil Verhoef: (and this is the SHORT version!!)

Phil Verhoef isn’t from anywhere in particular and has lived everywhere. He’s been raising his voice since birth and has been playing music nearly all his life. For Cap Gun, he focuses on playing 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars, occasionally whipping out his t-bone for ripping solos. He started playing the piano when he was 8, and decided that piano was dumb, so he switched to trumpet when he was 12. Then he got braces, and decided low brass instruments would be better (and that trumpet players are usually assholes anyways), so switched to the baritone horn when he was 14 and picked up the trombone when he was 17. He played jazz trombone in high school in Penfield, NY and throughout his college career at the College of Wooster. He also started playing guitar when he went to college, primarily as a mechanism for attempting to get laid, with varying degrees of success. He’s done the coffee shop scene playing solo, with Greg, and with whomever wanted to sing or play with him. Phil no longer thinks piano is dumb and plays when he can, as well as playing whatever else he can get his hands on. He’s currently pursuing his MD degree (halfway done) and his PhD degree (almost done) at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. His primary musical influences include, first and foremost, the Beatles, followed closely by Bob Mould/Sugar, R.E.M., Uncle Tupelo (and its subsequent incarnations), the Old 97’s, Whiskeytown (and its subsequent solo projects), anything on Bloodshot Records, Gram Parsons, and J.S. Bach. When he grows up, he wants to be a juke tonk honky box star.
